Best Way to Lose Weight for Good

The best way to lose weight is something that simply eludes most people. The unfortunate thing is that usually its right in front of their face, literally. Yet most have no idea how to lose weight to begin with let alone how to find the best way to lose weight. Those that have found a way to drop the pounds have failed to keep it off as they give in and fall short of harnessing their own self control. Each and every year around the New Year people realize they've ballooned up and decide its time to shed the pounds fast. Indulge in the best way to lose weight, for good.

Its easy for me to sit back now and remember a time when I was overweight. I am a naturally slender person and never thought I'd look and the mirror shocked and realizing that I need to lose weight. In fact for me I couldn't even figure out why I gained weight in the first place. Later that afternoon I remember sitting down for lunch with 2 ham sandwiches, a side of mac and cheese, a baked potato with sour cream, and bacon and 2 glasses of pepsi. Then it hit me this is the problem, I am less active than I was in high school but I still eat in the same manner. 20 pounds heavier than I need be I decided I didn't have to find a way to lose weight I needed the best way to lose weight.

I put a lot of time into working out and running and doing all the things I knew were right after that. I was still lacking one thing, discipline. I could force myself to workout and get active but I still had trouble with eating and how much I ate at one time. Then it hit me that the best way to lose weight was to stop eating! I was used to eating a lot growing up, again I was constantly one of the skinniest guys in my high school. Approaching my mid twenties I discovered I simply could no longer afford to eat that way as my health began to deteriorate.

So in my quest for the best way to lose weight I found it to be portion control and food control. Controlling not only the portions of food I eat but the types of food as well helped greatly in my quest. I realized it was ok to eat a high fat snack every now and again but just not every single night. For me it came down to a combo of things such as moderate exercise, eating healthy, avoid salt and high fats and eating fatty foods in moderation as the means for the best way to lose weight. Now that i know the truth I will never go back to what I once was.

How Many Calories Do I Need Per Day?

How Do I Calculate Caloric Needs Based On My Goal (gain/loss/maintain)?

Listen, figuring out how many calories a day you need to lose weight, maintain your weight or gain weight really isnt too hard. And with the formula Im about to give you plus a very cool website, you can easily track where you are and what you need to do daily to reach your goals. So lets begin!

IF YOU DONT KNOW WHERE YOU ARE, THEN LOSING, MAINTAINING OR GAINING WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE!

Step 1:

Take your current body weight in pounds (lbs) and multiply by 11.

Example: 194 lbs x 11 = 2134 calories

This is what I need to just keep what I have, without moving. But remember, you do move. So you have to then calculate your metabolic factors into this so off to step 2

Step 2:

Figure out your metabolic factor according to the table below.

But first, some definitions to help you determine where you might fit in:

Slow Metabolism: You basically look at food and you seem to put on pounds. You can gain weight by eating salads but its difficult to lose the weight.

Moderator Metabolism: You can gain weight if you try. You can lose weight if you try. You really dont have trouble losing weight depending on what you want to do.

Fast Metabolism: You are the skinny guy or gal who can eat *ANYTHING* and it makes no difference. Gaining weight is difficult. Losing weight can happen overnight. Just by watching T.V. you seem to shed pounds.

Metabolic %

Under 30 years old
Slow Metabolism- 30%
Moderate Metabolism- 40%
Fast Metabolism- 50%

30-40 years old
Slow Metabolism- 25%
Moderate Metabolism- 35%
Fast Metabolism- 45%

Over 40 years old
Slow Metabolism- 20%
Moderate Metabolism- 30%
Fast Metabolism- 40%

Example: 2134 calories x 35% = 746.90

I took my calories needed above just to sit here and not move and multipled it by my metabolic factor and I find that I need an additional 746.90 calories because of my specific metabolism.

Step 3:

Put it together.

2134 + 746.90 = 2880.90 calories

I need 2,880.90 calories to maintain my current weight with my current activities.

Note: You can also adjust your metabolic factor if you do something that might take you to the next level. If you are a moderator metabolism person but you do distance running, it might make more sense to put your self in the fast category since you burn a lot more calories.

Step 4:

Now change the above with about 500 calories every day to reach your goals!

Lose Weight: I would take 2880.90 500 = 2380.90

Maintain Weight: I would just leave it at 2880.90 and continue what I was doing in my activities

Gain Weight: I would take 2880.90 + 500 = 3380.90

Note: 500 calories a day is just a general term everybody uses to say that adding this amount is within safe limits. Eat too much, and you end up storing fat. Cut too many calories and your body just goes into starvation mode and ends up retaining more fat. 500 is a safe, recommended guideline.

Step 5:

You must track what you are eating so youll know if youve made your goal for the day. And tracking food does not have to be complicated with weights and scales.

It's a shame that so many people just start training and never figure out what they need to eat daily to reach their goals.

You can keep doing the math over and over as you reach a goal. If you are bulking, your requirements will change as you progress. And when you lose weight they will as well. You might want to lose weight, reach a target weight and then maintain. So you will do this formula again when you have hit the weight you want.

Cycling Calories - How Does It Work?

One of the main reasons why 95% of diets fail is that your metabolism slows down during the diet until it burns less and less fat. That is also why people lose a lot of weight when they start dieting but see their weight loss rate slow down with time. What happens is that your metabolism doesn't know your dieting, it thinks your starving. And so it slows down so your burn less calories. It's a biological process which exists in all the animals in nature and in us humans as well.

Cycling calories is a weight loss method which attempts to 'trick' our metabolism into thinking that we're not dieting. That way the metabolism doesn't slow down and we continue to lose weight at a rapid pace.

How is this done?

You need to change the amount of calories you eat from one day to the next. Of course, you need to maintain an average calorie deficit so you'll lose weight. For example, say you need to eat 2,500 calories on average when you're dieting. One day you'll eat 2500, but the next you'll take in 2000, and the day after that 3000 calories. Cycling your calories that way will make sure that your metabolism doesn't know you're dieting.

An expansion of Calorie Cycling is Calorie Shifting. In Calorie Shifting you shift the types of calories you eat from one day to the next and even from one meal to the next. This keeps your metabolism running at a high level. It's Calorie Cycling taken to the next level.

Cycling calories or Shifting Calories, when done correctly, insures a fast and continuous fat loss due to the high metabolic rate your body maintains.

3 Simple Tips To Shed Weight Quickly Before The Holidays

Losing weight these days is actually quite easy to do, especially because there are so many different types of diets out there. But, which diet is the right one to go with. Well, here I am going to go over the main points in which you need to do in order to lose weight and which diets do and don't work.

First off, it really depends on your body weight. If you are slender and are looking to take off an extra 5-10 lbs then the low carb high protein diet is a good one for you. The thing with these diets are that they tend to work better for those that don't have to completely make a lifestyle change to lose a dramatic amount of weight.

For people looking to lose any where between 20-40 lbs, a good diet and exercise is crucial to take the weight off once and for good. When you are looking to lose a lot of weight, you want to make sure that you do it slowly. If you lose the weight too quickly, you will gain it twice as fast as you lost it and maybe even end up heavier then when you started losing weight.

Here are a few good tips to have in your daily life in order to lose weight:

-Drink Lots of Water! This is very crucial to any diet as it takes off all water weight when enough water is consumed.

-Walk, run, or do any type of cardio.

-A big thing to weight loss is NOT eating pass 7:30 at night

Those 3 pointers above can get you started on a very good path to weight loss if done everyday. Make sure that you always have a water bottle with you wherever you go. I can't stress enough how beneficial water is to lose weight. It is the prime thing that flushes your fat away.

The 3 Ways to Maximize Weight Loss to Full Speed

One of the hardest things to do is lose weight. There are tons of ways to do it but not all of them will work. What you want to do is get a couple different routines going that way when you hit a plateau in one then you get switch to a different routine. When you switch you routine that will help you increase your performance. Once you increase you performance you are going to make it easier on yourself to lose weight. There should be three fundamentals to you routines they would be making sure that you are keeping hydrated, exercising regularly, and making sure that you are eating portions.

The first fundamental of your routine is to make sure that you stay hydrated. There are a couple of ways to do this you have drinking water, drinking sport drinks, and drinking juices will all keep you hydrated. What you want to do though is stay away from those soft drinks because they really dehydrate you. I would recommend trying to drink around eight glasses of water a day because it will help you lose more in the long run but you can always have the occasional Gatorade, or PowerAde. The reason why it wouldn't be a bad idea in have a Gatorade or PowerAde every once in awhile is because they give you electrolytes and cools down your body.

The next fundamental that you should use with you routine is making sure that you exercise regularly. This would mean any where from I would say three to five times a week. When you first start out you can start off slow and do only three days a week that way you're giving you body a rest. Then when you start to get a hang of the three days a week then you should pump it up to every day trying to do about forty five minutes to sixty five minutes of exercising a day. For my routine I like to go jogging for thirty to thirty five minutes then I come home and do some light weight training.

Last but not least in the fundamentals of your routine is making sure that you eat portions. This is the key to the whole routine. If you don't eat portions and continue to eat the way you are right know then you are going to see very little changes. However if you do eat portions then you should be able to see a very sizeable change in you appearance. The portion part also makes sure that you keep off those unwanted pounds that you're carrying because we all know once you lose it you never want it back again.

So now that we have gone over the fundamentals of your routine. Just keep on your mind that if you keep hydrated, exercise regularly, and eat portions then you should be able to change the way your lifestyle is today.
